With a total capacity of up to 24MW of IT power, the new campus reinforces the company’s strategic expansion across Latin America

ODATA, a data center provider for Latin America, starts operating its first site in Rio de Janeiro. Located in the municipality of São João de Meriti, the data center is the first in the region and represents a significant milestone in the strategic expansion, which already includes countries such as Chile, Mexico and Colombia.

Designed with a focus on high availability, performance and robust infrastructure at different levels of criticality, the RJ01 data center offers state-of-the-art power and cooling to meet the growing needs of the market. In total, the project predicts a capacity up to 24MW of IT power for the customers’ hyper-scale demands.

The joint work of the team responsible for the new data center campus directly contributed to its opening. According to Ricardo Alário, the relentless pursuit of excellence allowed ODATA to achieve the highest standards of quality, safety and energy efficiency for the site. “This great result is a tangible testament to the talent of our team. The São João de Meriti site is our first in the Rio de Janeiro region and was strategically developed from site selection to completion.”

Sustainable expansion across Latin America

In addition to the opening of the Rio de Janeiro data center, ODATA successfully concluded the commissioning of its SP02 data center, located in Hortolândia (SP), which is already in operation with a total IT capacity of 36MVA. The procedure carried out underscores the company’s commitment to ensuring a highly reliable and efficient operating environment to meet the growing demands of the market.

ODATA already has 16 data center campuses in Latin America. In addition to Rio de Janeiro, the company has operating sites in municipalities in São Paulo, such as Santana de Parnaíba, Hortolândia and Barueri, in addition to units in Chile, Mexico and Colombia.
